Cantoni Designs Contemporary Model Home at Bleu Ciel

Bleu Ciel features three Model Homes each with their own unique style from a carefully curated list of designers. Modern furniture and design studio, Cantoni, selected to outfit our 01 Sky Home on the 7th floor.

The contemporary eye of this Dallas-based retailer and design studio lends itself to a sumptuous, modern home for the urban dweller. ”For the model, we wanted to keep it neutral and warm to help prospective residents envision themselves living in the space,” says Benji Rodriguez, Designer at Cantoni Dallas. “We opted for low profile furniture to let the home’s stunning views take center stage and integrated soft textures to add warmth.”

Step into the model unit and your eyes immediately lock onto a watercolor diptych featuring a striking blue ombré painting mounted on the wall. And the impressive artwork doesn’t stop there: avant-garde swivel chairs, phantom rectangular mirrors, large-scale photographs mounted on acrylic, and chandeliers suspended over the dining table. The space exudes a sense of drama befitting for any modernistic maven.

Meet the Interior Designers of Bleu Ciel's Model Homes

Since day one, Harwood International collaborated with the best in their industry in the design and execution of the dazzling tower and the designers selected to outfit our model units are no exception. Bleu Ciel will be collaborating with B&B Italia, Mitchel Gold + Bob Williams, Cantoni, Amy Berry, California Closets, and Boudreaux Associates. Each partner has a unique vision for their unit and together these model units will showcase an array of interior design preferences to help visitors feel at home.

To learn more about the design inspiration and process for these partners, Bleu Ciel has initiated a “Thought Bubbles” lunch series at Dolce Riviera that combines two of our favorite things – sparkling wine and interior design. Both Cantoni and Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams presented their plans and design process to a private group of brokers and clients in the exclusive event space on the Dolce Riviera patio. Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams bring a transitional style to their home, mixing traditional with modern. This collection is ideal for going from a traditional home into a high-rise. Cantoni’s collection is more modern and in Bleu Ciel they will be bringing some warm, earthy tones to bring some of the outdoors inside.

Danilo Di Nardo, general manager of the restaurant and HARWOOD’s sommelier, gave our guests a sampling of his favorites from our sparkling wine list including Ferghettina Francicorta Rosé, Canella Prosecco Superiore di Conegliano, and Moët & Chandon Imperial Brut. Each glass was expertly paired with a bite from the Dolce Riviera kitchen.

The Bleu Ciel model units will be opening up later this year for visits for prospective home owners. Stay tuned to the Bleu Ciel newsletter to keep up to date on when these homes are ready for preview.

The First annual Hope Fest A Great Success

On Saturday, September 30, 2017,  Harwood International hosted the first annual Hope Fest: Live from HARWOOD at Happiest Hour to support three nonprofit organizations: Cornerstone Achievement Center, Love Like You Mean It, and Connecting Point of Park Cities. Through the generosity of 30 sponsors along with more than 500 guests and donors, Hope Fest raised over $230,000 in its inaugural year. Proceeds will be used to support the unique initiatives of each organization, which includes funding education, advocacy, and support initiatives for individuals with special needs in addition to efforts to eradicate the trafficking of young girls and women in India.

When Happiest Hour opened doors at 3 p.m., guests made donations to win one of the many impressive raffle items including diamond jewelry and autographed sports memorabilia from top athletes like Roger Federer and Emmitt Smith. Enjoying special bites and new menu features from Happiest Hour, guests continued to mingle until event chairs Katelyn and Oliver Barbier-Mueller took the stage for welcoming remarks and an introduction of the first act, Michael Lee & The Wartime Limousines. The Barbier-Mueller family founded the global real estate firm Harwood International and is developing the HARWOOD District, a growing 18-city block neighborhood featuring residential and commercial property as well as seven restaurant concepts and a museum.

As the night progressed, Cas Haley, the 2007 runner-up on “America’s Got Talent,” took the stage to perform hit songs for the Hope Fest crowd. Next up was the headlining act Josh Weathers, a local Fort Worth artist and founder of the charity Love Like You Mean It. Weathers captivated the audience with his bluesy, soulful voice and plenty of skillful musical showmanship.

Among those supporting Hope Fest were host committee members including: Katherine Helms; Katlin and Zach James; Laura Reeder; Skyler and Robbie Baty; Meghan Looney; Stefanie and Michael Prentiss; and more. As members of the executive host committee, Barbier-Mueller family members were in attendance: Gabriel Barbier-Mueller; Niña and Trevor Tollett; and, Alexis and Bridget Barbier-Mueller.

Swexan Day in HARWOOD

Did you know HARWOOD has its own Swiss roots? CEO and Founder of Harwood International, the developer of the neighborhood, Gabriel Barbier-Mueller was born and raised in Geneva, Switzerland and moved to Dallas in 1979. Swiss influence can be found in designs for the buildings and restaurants, and also in the Swiss cows that line the border of HARWOOD.

Merging the Texan and Swiss hospitable way of thinking, we call this union our “Swexan” connection. In honor of Swiss National Day on Tuesday, August 1, you’ll notice our Swexan pride displayed around the district with custom flags and specialty offerings at select restaurants.

Swiss cuisine is a harmony of many regional influences, especially French, German and Italian cuisines. Chefs from the HARWOOD eateries crafted specials with their own unique interpretations of traditional and contemporary Swiss dishes.

Dolce Riviera
Dolce Riviera joins the district in honoring Swiss National Day with an exclusive one-day special featuring four dishes. Start with the Swiss Cheese Board, which includes Tete de Moines, Raclette, and Emmental Cheese served with Homemade Marmellate. Then, end on a sweet note with the Malakoff Cake or Classic Meringue served with double cream sauce.

While undergoing exciting renovations until early September, Marie Gabrielle offers a menu of breakfast and lunch selections in the lobby of HARWOOD No. 2 - 2728 N. Harwood St. The restaurant will continue its weekly hot entree specials showcasing Saffron Risotto with Prawns on August 1.

Mercat Bistro
Sit back, relax, and go back in time with Mercat's absinthe cocktail. The anise-flavored spirit dates back to the 18th century and originates from the Jura region of Switzerland. Many notable figures like Pablo Picasso, Ernest Hemingway, and Oscar Wilde were all known absinthe drinkers of their day.
