The Ann & Gabriel Barbier-Mueller Museum: The Samurai Collection will share fascinating new stories and facts about the samurai with #MuseumWeek on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter from June 19 through June 25. #MuseumWeek is known as the first worldwide cultural event on social media and each year it takes on a different theme. The Samurai Collection joins museums from around the world in showcasing this year’s theme of #womenMW, a dedication to all women – past, present, and future.
Samurai women have a particularly interesting history. In fact, women were some of the fiercest samurai warriors and made significant impacts on the history of Japan.
