Harwood Trailhead Now Open

08.21.2019

Lace up and hit the trail! The Harwood Trailhead featuring easy access to the Katy Trail is now open, located at the northern edge of the Harwood District just steps away from Bleu Ciel.

With this new entrance, the Harwood District becomes more walkable than ever. Once an abandoned railroad line, Katy Trail is now one of the most iconic destinations in Dallas. With over one million visitors every year, people from all walks of life enjoy the 3.5 mile stretch of beautiful scenery, well-maintained paths, and the splendor of the city. For residents, tenants, and visitors of the Harwood District, it’s even easier to bike, run, walk, skate, or scooter on the Katy Trail.

To celebrate the opening of the Harwood Trailhead, we held ROGA — an event blending running with acro yoga — in partnership with Dallas Fitness Ambassadors benefitting NAMI North Texas. With more than 100 Dallasites in attendance, the weekend’s kick-off event was an invigorating success.

The balmy Saturday morning started off with a three-mile fun run passing by Bleu Ciel and through the Harwood Trailhead – right to the Katy Trail. Crossing the finish line at The Grove at Harwood, runners and new guests alike were invited to a beginner acro yoga class and a post-work out after party full of refreshments, music, and a good time.

“I had so much fun hosting ROGA to celebrate the opening of the Harwood Trailhead,” said Dallas Fitness Ambassador Mai Lyn Ngo. “I’m personally really excited to take full advantage of this easy access and wind down at The Grove or Magnolias: Sous Le Pont.”

The Harwood Trailhead is the perfect gateway to a picturesque escape from the hustle and bustle. Whether you’re a runner looking for a new spot, or you just want a place to take a scenic stroll, Katy Trail is exactly where you need to be.
